Bertolucci, Father John - On Fire with the Spirit - St Francis Assoc for Catholic Evangelism, POBox 8000, Steubenville, Ohio, USA 43952 - Autobiography.  Father insists that as a certified college professor, priest, chaplain, and pastoral counselor, he would be disqualified - without the baptism in the Holy Spirit - & end up with human results rather than God's.  He also notes that the short time after the Holy Spirit baptism is the honeymoon period. He says this baptism is a must for each of us, not only for priests & revered saints. 
He was privileged to be prayed over by Kathryn Kuhlman in Jerusalem. He remarks that only one who has a personal relationship with Christ can evangelize & explain to others their need for a personal relationship with Jesus; one cannot share what he does not have.

We must daily (until death) hunger after and pursue the mind of God in each situation,

In Chapter 25 Adventures in God Lake testifies that God healed him of a 9 year bout with constipation upon his 100% consecration of his spirit, mind and body to God.
Chapter 25 also addresses Paul's thorn in the flesh.  Lake contends that on the 3rd plea, Paul was healed. 
Lake believes 2nd Corinthians 12:9 should read, "Paul, My grace is sufficient for you (to heal your spirit, to heal your mind and to heal your body).
Chapter 43 The Baptism of the Holy Ghost has a plethora of "awe inspiring, unique, & encouraging" sermons.

[One might be able to conclude that Jesus the man (flesh and soul) was enabled to begin to become the Christ when His human spirit was united to the Holy Spirit.  Probably that would have been true of the 1st Adam - and of each human.  However, as Jesus' Spirit was God from the moment of conception, that is what (in all likelihood) enabled Him to never submit to temptation.  Even though Jesus' disciples did wonders, they did greater works AFTER Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, when He sent our helper the Holy Spirit at Pentecost...
There is a deeper understanding.  When one's human spirit is immersed into the Holy Spirit (when the veil to heaven is ripped open) one can (often at will) peer into the mind and heart of God.  One can WATCH what the Father God is doing.  One can reproduce it on earth.  Jesus said that He did ONLY what He SAW His Father in heaven doing.  Remember,  Jesus taught in the Lord's prayer for us to ask, "May it be done on earth as it is now done in heaven."  When we observe it being done in heavenly places, this prayer becomes more of a command, "Be done on earth NOW, as it is now done in heaven, in Jesus' name."

Jorgensen, Owen - Supernatural, The Life of William Branham (Books 1-6) (1909-1965) - Branham had a marvelous, magnificent healing ministry.  Per book 4, he contended that each Christian must have the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which he considered to be the seal of the Holy Spirit.  He did NOT believe that speaking in tongues is evidence of baptism.  He considered the fruit of the Spirit to be the real test.  However, he did believe in speaking in tongues and the other gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Lake, John G. - The Baptism of the Holy Ghost - "The outpouring of the Holy Ghost (baptism) is the greatest event in Christian history - greater than the crucifixion...resurrection...ascension...glorification.

Prince, Derek - The Spirit-Filled Believer's handbook - www.derekprince.org - Section New Testament Baptisms delves into the necessity of adult "baptism by immersion in water" for believers, to separate ourselves from the power of Satan.  This issue is also covered in Prince's book They Shall Expel Demons. Regardless of our doctrinal position, if we follow Jesus' example as protocol, then baptism by immersion seems to be the spiritual thing to do.  This can be done in a swimming pool, in a large pot of clay, in a river, or in the ocean, as well as at church.

My soul was crying out to God in a yearning too deep for words, when suddenly it seemed to me, that I had passed under a shower of warm tropical rain, which was not falling upon me, but through me. It is the Greek word perimeno. It means 'to stay around, to wait for, & to fellowship with.' 
The baptism of the Holy Spirit was to be a direct result of relationship through fellowship with the Holy Spirit.  Jesus said, 'If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me & drink. He who believes in Me (who cleaves to & trusts in & relies on Me) as the Scripture has said, from his innermost being shall flow (continuously) springs & rivers of living water.'  He was speaking here of the Spirit, whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the (Holy) Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).  Jesus knew that we would need both a special boldness & divine 'overflow' in order to walk in the manifestation of His promises. The Scriptures teach us that every believer born of the Word & the Spirit automatically has the Holy Spirit within. The Holy Spirit came & took up residence in you at the moment of your salvation. We also see in Scripture that the Holy Spirit's empowerment was, in many cases, a subsequent, deliberate & repeated experience for all believers.
The Empowering of the Spirit - The indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit is automatic; you did not have to seek His indwelling presence when you first got saved. He came & took up residence in your heart at the moment of your salvation. The empowering of the Spirit is not automatic. It usually comes in response to prayer...The Greek word for baptism here is baptizo. It means 'to be over-whelmed.' The idea is to continue to repeat the same process until an object is fully saturated.
It is often illustrated by the picture of a pickle being saturated in dill brine by dipping it over & over again.
If an object is completely saturated, it means that it can no longer contain the substance in which it is saturated. It is over-flowing out of the saturated object & getting all over everything that it comes in contact with.   In Prophetic Evangelism, Sean Smith writes, 'When we are baptized by Christ in the Holy Spirit, we become partakers of the divine nature at the optimal level.'  
He is not trying to say that we have to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit in order to become partakers of the divine nature.
He is emphasizing the point that the divine nature that is already in us is activated to operate at the optimal level in our soul through the Holy Spirit baptism."

You see that God placed all the gifts & workings of the (Holy) Spirit in the church (the bride who acts as though she is a wife of Jesus & an heir of God plus a citizen of heaven right now), & they were to remain with the people of God “till we all come in the unity of the faith” (v13) “by the same Spirit” (1Cor.12:28). “The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal…But all these worketh (via) that 1 & selfsame Spirit” (vv.7,11). There is 1 Lord & 1 (Holy) Spirit (Eph. 4:4-5). The Holy Spirit is the working agent of Christ, sent by God to work through the church, the body of Christ. Each member is to possess one or more of these gifts as the church walks in the light & believers & accepts these blessings or gifts.  Holy Spirit had (already) come in to abide forever.  He knew the power of the Spirit, but he had to seek the face of the Lord over & over again to gain a position of faith for the intercession.

He became involved in it & worked at discipling new converts. However, he & his  friends sensed spiritual needs in their own lives. In the summer of 1906 they spent their summer holiday at the Llandrindod Wells convention (a Welsh equivalent to the English Keswick Conference) where Howells made a pivotal decision. From the first meeting, Howells was deeply moved. The realization dawned on him that Holy Spirit was a person, and not an ‘influence.’ In his words: 'He said to me, "As the Savior had a body, so I dwell in the cleansed temple of the believer. I am a Person. I am God. I am come to ask you to give your body to Me that I may work through it. I need a body for My temple, but it must belong to Me without reserve, for 2 persons with different wills can never live in the same body. Will you give Me yours? But if I come in, I come as God, & you must go out. I shall not mix Myself with your self."  This precipitated a 5-day struggle in Mr. Howells. From the 1st, he realized it was an unconditional surrender, of which he said: 'I had received a sentence of death, as really as a prisoner in the dock. I had lived in my body for 26 years, & could I easily give it up....I wept for days. I lost 7 pounds...Nothing is more real to me than the process I went through for that whole week.
Holy Spirit went on dealing with me, exposing the root of my nature which was self.  You can only get out of a thing what is in its root.
Sin was canceled.  It wasn’t sin He was dealing with.  It was self'...Some of the things he (Howells) came to a point of surrender over:
1. His love of money: 'The Lord told him that He would take out of his nature all taste for money & any ambition for the ownership of money.'
2. His choice in making a home:
'I saw I could never give my life to another person, to live to (for) that 1 alone."
3. His ambition: 'Supposing he had a mission in a town & another mission opened in the same place; if there was jealousy between the 2, and it was better for the town only to have 1, then it would be his which would have to go.'
4. His right to a good reputation: 'As he was thinking of men of the Bible who were full of the Holy Ghost, & particularly John the Baptist, the Lord said to him, "Then I may live through you the kind of life I lived through them."' 
Finally on Friday of that week he came through...
The book continues with stories of how God worked through this man teaching him faith & intercession as he prayed for the sick, prayed for the salvation of friends & acquaintances, gave up raising his own son to work as a missionary, traveled without any money in his pocket, bought estates, established a Bible school & prayed for international events, especially during the World War II.
All the while God also continued to deal with his self-life."

TODD: I had a vision in January of 2018, that as I'm walking across the stage, I see our baptistry.
I'm just in a moment of prayer, walking across the stage, nothing unusual. We're in a time of fasting with our church.
I look at our baptistry & see the baptistry completely empty in the natural, but in the spirit I had my 1st open vision.  
I see the tank full of water & a strip of fire on the water. The Lord spoke to me, "I'm going to baptize people with Holy Spirit fire."
Ever since then, we've been baptizing people.
After revival hit our church, we started baptizing people & they're encountering the fire of God in that water.
TODD: I was raised Southern Baptist. I thank God for my heritage.
I was saved as a Southern Baptist, schooled as a Southern Baptist, started pastoring a church that was a Southern Baptist church.
So I was not completely open to the baptism of the Holy Spirit & fire & even the gifts of the spirit.
I wasn't even open to them. I was more of a cessationist. A staunch dispensationalist if you will.
TODD: (I, as) a Baptist went to a Pentecostal prayer meeting…I said, "Fellows, I'm ready to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and they walked around me, prayed, & said, "Be filled with the Holy Spirit."
They laid hands on me. My throat tightened. I got a constriction around my throat.
I stopped the gentlemen & said, "Listen, my throat...It's hard for me swallow. It's hard for me to swallow." 
One gentleman said, "Well Todd, here's what's going on. There's a prayer language that God wants to release through you, but it's being constricted." He says, "I want you to denounce all false teaching.
I want you to repent of teaching false teaching." As soon as I did, I said, "Lord, I'm sorry for believing false doctrine.
I'm sorry for teaching false doctrine." Immediately my throat loosened. It relaxed.
He put 1 index finger on my forehead & said, "Be filled with the Holy Spirit."
At that very moment the power of God came upon me. The kavod, the glory of the Lord, sat upon me.
I fell backwards & began to speak in other tongues.
